Springbok Goes to Guatemala for the Producer Roaster Forum

Springbok Coffee Roasters is Heading to Guatemala!

We are thrilled to be included in the third annual Producer Roaster Forum, happening May 23rd – 25th. Hosted by Perfect Daily Grind, Guatemalan Coffees, and Anacafe, this two-day event is a unique opportunity for 500 Guatemalan producers, 50 international guests, and a select handful of specialty roasters from across the globe to gather, learn from each other, and continue to push our industry forward. Our co-founder and Q Grader, Jason Bell, is honored to be among the roasters invited to attend the event this year.

He’ll be heading down a few days before the forum for a three-day origin experience. During this experience, he’ll be hosted by San Miguel Coffee and will be staying on their farm, touring the grounds and nurseries, cupping coffees, sharing knowledge, and learning from some of Guatemala’s leading producers.

The forum itself will feature lectures from world-leading authorities on topics including international consumption trends, green bean purchasing and decision-making for roasters, post-harvest processing, and more. Jason will also have the opportunity to cup the top lots that Guatemala has to offer, attend workshops on topics like coffee pricing and experimental fermentation, and join networking events to foster collaboration with other industry leaders.

He’s also looking forward to participating in the world’s first-ever coffee Blockchain auction hosted by Yave. If you’re not familiar with Blockchain and it’s potential to improve the coffee supply chain, we’re diving a bit deeper in an upcoming blog post – stay tuned!

We can’t wait to soak up all that this incredible forum has to offer and we’re looking forward to returning home to Charleston with new connections, knowledge and inspiration to make Springbok Coffee Roasters the very best it can be.

Do you know any other industry professionals attending the event? Are there questions you’d like us to ask during the forum? Let us know by emailing info@springbokcoffee.com and we’ll do our best to bring back ideas and answers for you!
